Technique Slots
Every you have under your name gives you 1 slot.
Dojo Techniques take up 1 slot each.
Any Upgraded Dojo Technique takes up 1 extra slot, coming to a total of 2 slots.
Custom Techniques take up 2 slots each.
Starter Techniques
You may begin with the knowledge of either of the following...
-2 Dojo Techniques
-1 Upgraded Dojo Technique
-1 Custom Technique
Dojo Techniques
1. In various places in this RP, mainly in dojos, there are places where you are able to learn techniques used in the shows and games. Whether taught in a dojo or not, all of these techniques are regarded as 'dojo techniques'.
2. Leaning a dojo technique requires 20 posts of training in the dojo where it is taught. You can do all 20 at once, or you can split it up and learn it over time.
3. Upgrading a dojo technique you already know takes an extra 10 posts of training where the upgrade is taught.
4. Dojo techniques can be taught to other members, and so can upgrades, provided the learning character has enough available technique slots. Learning takes 20 posts as usual, or 10 for upgrades, but you can count both the learner's and the teacher's posts (i.e. 10 each for regular techniques and 5 each for upgrades).
Custom Techniques
1. These are techniques your character came up with themselves.
They are considered as being on par with upgraded dojo techniques as far as power and effectiveness are concerned, although can be better or worse depending on how well designed they are and how your character uses them.
2. To create a custom technique, create a new post in your character profile with the technique's details, and await its acceptance.
3. Once the technique is accepted, your character must train for 30 posts, at the end of which they will perfect their new technique.
4. The entire 30 posts do not have to be about learning the technique. But must lead up to it. The last 10 posts at the least should involve something to do with the technique.
5. Custom Techniques cannot be upgraded. If you want to expand on the effects of a technique, just make another custom technique with the effects you desire. You can call it [Technique Name] Part 2, if you wish.
Changing Techniques
1. You may forget any technique you wish to free up space for other techniques you want instead.
2. To forget a technique, post in your character profile to state that your character has discarded the technique or forgotten how to use it. This does not usually require acceptance.
3. Leaning a replacement technique goes by the standard rules of training.
20 posts for Dojo Techniques
10 posts for Dojo Upgrades
30 posts for Custom Techniques
4. Re-learning a forgotten technique requires full training as if you were learning it for the first time all over again. If you are relearning a custom technique, you will have to state so in your profile. This also usually does not require acceptance.
