Covering most of planet Earth is this huge expanse of salty water. If you feel like swimming across the globe from continent to continent, go for it! But make sure to ask the crewmen of any passing ships for directions every now and then... it's easy to get lost among the waves. Also, watch out for storms. They can be deadly.

Shiro paced across the deck of the small ship, pouting childishly. How much slower can this thing go? he wondered, running a hand through his hair in frustration. Suddenly he turned and walked off, heading for a building in the center of the deck. He climbed up a short ladder into the cabin where a brown-haired man was sitting behind a wheel. "Oi, captain, when'll we reach Papaya Island?"

The captain turned around, an amused grin on his face. "About five minutes sooner than the last time you asked." He replied, resulting in another pout from Shiro. The captain laughed and turned to the front again. "Calm down, boy. The tournament won't start for a while yet. You've plenty of time to get there and sign up."
"But what if all the spots fill up before I get there!?" Shiro shouted, before beginning to pace the length of the cabin.

"There're only eight spots in the tournament, and registration opened up yesterday. For all I know, they're all filled!"
The captain shook his head, having heard this entire rant three times before. The kid was worrying about nothing, as far as he was concerned. There probably weren't even eight people on the planet crazy enough to register for such a high level tournament.

The captain looked at his GPS, tuning out Shiro's worried mumblings. "It looks like it'll be another half-hour. Why don't you go back on deck and relax a bit? Maybe help some of the rookies? Just stop worrying so much!"
Shiro nodded and climbed out of the cabin and onto the deck, where a group of about ten other fighters stood around resting or sparring with each other.

Papaya Island held two tournaments. One was the universally famous Tenkaichi Budokai, where the strongest fighters of the universe would gather to test each other's strength. This was what Shiro was planning on entering.

The second tournament was what these other fighters were likely to enter. Held in honor of the legendary Master Roshi, the Kame Tournament was for fighters of a more sane level of strength. Shiro had seen one once, and the fighters in it were quite skilled. But he wanted to be the best, so there was little doubt which of the tournaments he would enter.

Shiro looked at the other fighters and shook his head. "Rookies?" Some of these guys have probably been training since before I was born. I doubt they'd take it well if a kid like me suddenly walked up to one of them and said 'Hey, you're doing that wrong, do it this way'. He thought, shaking his head at the captain's comment.

Shiro turned and walked back to the front of the ship, leaning on the railing when he got there. He stood like that for all of five seconds before he started pacing again. Gah, would this stupid boat hurry up already!

Ten minutes later, Shiro, coming back from another rant to the captain, spotted a small shape on the horizon. The longer he looked, the clearer it became, and the larger his grin grew. "Land! We're almost there!" He punched the air and watched as the island grew.

And so, Nachi left the oddly named East City Docks behind her as she swam through the ocean, loving every moment of it... she's never swam before... "This is so awesome!"

She swam for an hour or so... and then eventually got bored... plus, she just crashed head-first in to a ship... "Ow!" Swimming back a little, she looks up to see a few sailors looking down from above trying to figure out the source of that loud clanging noise...

One of the sailors, astonished, asks... "What're ya doing down there, little girl?!" "I'm swimming to Papa Island!" "WHAT?!" "But I'm bored... how far away is it?!" "Uhh... we're going to Papaya Island... so you better get on boar-" "Okay, I'll go that way?!" Nachi points in the direction the ship is facing, and without letting the sailor answer, she dashes off through the waters...

Becoming increasingly bored as hell with every moment's wait, Nachi begins to cause trouble aboard the ship from Papaya Island to Hercule City... or a dock on the coast nearest Hercule City... Such complications.
It's gonna be a long voyage.

After several minutes, the ship took off, leaving Papaya Island and heading for South city. Shiro was laying on the deck, watching the clouds, thinking about the tournament and the people he'd have to fight in it. I wonder how strong they are? They'll certainly be stronger than anyone else I've faced. Gah, I can't wait for the tournament to start!

"Hmmmm I wonder when I'll get there. I hope I brought enough supplies." Eventually he'd let the boat drift with the ocean and began to lay back and play his Ocarina.

"This is pretty relaxing. The boat swaying away, and good music. It's relaxing. No yelling, no school, no hiding....everything is just so great" Haru would look up at the clouds as he played.

"Even the clouds look better out here" The boat would all of a sudden start rocking wildly. "Crap, what's going on" The water was becoming a little violent.

"Of course this wouldn't be easy" He began to sway back and forth. He was loosing control of the boat. "I'll have to abandon this!" He'd jump as high and far as he can as a wave crashed down on his boat.

He may have gone pretty far on the jump but eventually he'd plop into the ocean. The current taking him wherever it wanted.

Smiling in triumph, Ace swam out into the ocean, leaving the fresh water and the huge carnivorous fish behind. "No, I will not be any creature's dinner today, or any other day! No sirree!"

Swimming along merrily, Ace groaned when he felt something swim by him again, and saw a black fin slice through the water to his right. "Seriously? More predators? Why me?"

24.
Ace just swam on, moving as fast as his growing exhaustion would allow. But the sharks were much, much faster than himself, even if he wouldnt've been tired as he was.

25.
Now, both of the sharks were swimming after him, a few feet behind him, one on either side. And then, bad news; their fins slowly sank under the surface, and Ace panicked, sending up a splash as he flailed for a second.

26.
Ace dove under just as one of the sharks jumped up out of the water at him, earnign a solid shark to the head instead of a face full of teeth. Turning his eyes to the other shark, he shot a blast of Eye Lasers at it.

27.
The shark that took the Eye Lasers spun off and corkscrewed away from Ace, discouraged by the blast and searing wounds on its face. Blood slowly leaked out as it swam away dejectedly.

The other shark caught Ace in the spine, its teeth tearing at his jacket and scratching a few scrapes in his back. Letting out a gasp of pain, which resulted in a stream of bubbles, Ace swam toward the surface.

"Alright sharky, screw you!" Ace turned away from the shark and swam away, and to his surprise, the shark swam away slowly. "That was lucky...most of the time they don't give up like that."

30.
Ace was really wearing down as he finally caught sight of his destination: Papaya Island. "Hell yeah!" he cheered, pumping his fist in the air as he made for the island with renewed vigor.
