“Perhaps we should gain as much altitude as we safely can to help avoid detection.” Royd suggested and kept watching the formations as they flew over.
“Makes me wonder who they are going to fight.” He added and then looked back to the horizon.

"...Good idea," Ace said after a moment. Clearing a rather large ravine, he added, "But I think we've already arrived at our destination." Ahead, he could see what looked like a village. From his memory, he was fairly certain it was where the radar had indicated. "Well, going down..." With that, he descended toward the edge of the village, landing near it. "Tomatoes...?" he said as soon as he noticed what was in the village.
He put Royd down, shaking his head. "Well... This is...interesting all over again..."

“Really?” Royd asked in regards to Ace thinking they were close to the dragon ball. Riding out the descent and being placed back on the ground, Royd put his cane back in his right hand and straitened up. Looking at the villages inhabitants he raised an eyebrow and shrugged it off, the universe was indeed becoming a strange place.
“Well, if there’s a fruit army behind us, I shouldn’t find it odd that there be a village of tomatoes. I wonder what they eat though.” he mused and looked about.

Ace nodded. "It's really not the biggest surprise," he said. "Well, let's get searching for that Dragonball, then." He approached one of the tomatoes. "Hey, excuse me... Have you seen an orange ball, about this big..." He held up his hands, forming them like he had closed them around a ball. "....with black stars on it?"
The tomato just scooted off, seemingly ignoring Ace, but stopped a short ways away, turning back to him.
"Well...alright then..." Ace mumbled, and started off after the tomato.

“Very well.” Royd responded and then started to able his way around the perimeter of the village, getting an idea of the settlement’s layout. As he walked he noted another one of the oversized tomatoes tilling soil in an empty garden. Approaching, Royd stood by and watched for a few moments, seemingly unnoticed by the sentient plant.

Ace followed the tomato as it led him along. When it led him into a building, he following it, only to stop short as he found a blade against his throat. "Uhm..." he managed to get out, before the blade was pushed harder against his throat.
"Why do you want the ball?" one of the tomatoes, an older one covered with spots and mold, hissed at him.
"I need it to save my planet..." Ace said.
"A likely story!" the eldermato snapped.

Once the tomato did notice him however he shrieked in bloody horror and zipped into it’s dwelling faster then Royd would have thought possible for something if it’s bulk. Frowning at the rather unpleasant incident he looked back the way he’d came and noted Ace was no longer in sight. Knowing the young man’s state and that he couldn’t leave him for long, Royd turned back and headed for where they had arrived in the village.

"Why would I come here if that wasn't the truth?" Ace asked calmly.
"To steal it! That's why! We stole it from those blasted Oranges, and they've sent you, an outsider, to take it back! Admit it!" the eldermato roared.
"No, that's not it at all..." Ace began. "My planet is goign to explo-"
"LIES AND DECEIT!" the eldermato roared, cutting him off. "Execute him!"
"Do what?" Ace said. "Execute? Waitaminute, WHAT?!" His shocked, screamed word nearly shattered a nearby window. But then he calmed down. "Go ahead..."

Returning to where they had arrived, Royd heard the ruckus being raised in one of the buildings. Making his way as quickly as possible towards the building he called out.
“Ace? What’s going on?” he yelled, hovelling his way up to the building.

"Royd, you might want to flee!" Ace called back. "The tomatoes seem to be host-" That was all Ace managed to get out. The rest of his sentence was a gurgling sound, with a dull thump as its period. If it wasn't obvious, the blade against Ace's throat had been used to execute him by slicing his throat wide open, and the thump...was his body hitting the ground.

Drawing to an immediate halt, Royd narrowed his gaze on the doorway. Anger instantly started to build within the dark haired man as his light blue aura started to flare up around him. With the anger, energy also started to build. Fueled by the fury of what he knew had just happened, Royd’s eyes started to glow a menacing red and then an even more intense blue.

The tomatoes inside the building, following their fanatical murder of the young man, looked through the open doorway to the one outside dressed in black. Taking up their weapons they started for him, unbeknownst to them that they were about to die. Such rage was swirling inside Royd that he felt no moral ambiguity for what he was about to do. Having stored sufficient energy, the dark haired man blasted the entire front of the building with a fan of blue energy from his eyes.

Yelling as his beams blanketed the front of the structure, it erupted into flame for a split second and then exploded, raining flaming debris and smoldering tomato parts all over the village. His rage did not stop there though, turning immediately to the closest hut, Royd raised his free, left hand and proceeded to blast it with ki energy bolts until it crumbled to the ground, squashing any within.

After leveling the second building, Royd spotted two guard tomatoes moving towards him with weapons drawn. Growling he turned towards them and launched a pair of crimson beams from his eyes, slicing one of the guards in two. The second, horrified at what had just happened, screamed and tried to run. He received a ki blast to the back for his trouble, and then several more into there was nothing left of his upper half but a smoking hole.

Turning on another of the structures, Royd raised his hand one again, but this time not to fire. Instead he accessed his telekinetic abilities and lifted a two wheeled cart from beside the hut into the air. Levitating it up about fifty feet he then dropped the cart on the building. The cart smashed right through the roof, collapsing the hut upon it’s self and like the other, most likely squashing anyone within.

The remaining guards of the village by now had banded together and were trying to work up the courage to attack the black garbed terror. They finally worked up enough to venture out when Royd blasted another of the remaining huts to rubble. Several of the farming folk trying to run were not spared either, being cut down in one large swath by another pair of crimson beams.

His rage flying out of control, Royd started to blast another of the few remaining buildings to pieces when the guard came out again. In a last, desperate attempt to stop the man, they all charged him, attempting to spread out to minimize their losses. Turning to face them, Royd narrowed his gaze and launched a third standard attack with his eyes, cutting down all but on of the group. The last just as horrified as his surviving brethren tried to hide behind a well.

Watching the red skinned fruit attempting to elude him, Royd stalked forward and started to charge more energy into his eyes. With each step the fruit cowered more and more until he’d performed the plant equivalent of wetting himself. There was no mercy to be had though. Ace and Royd had come peacefully to this village and their fanatical war had cost one of them their life, so Royd was going to end that war.

Standing roughly twenty feet away, Royd could hear the last surviving guard crying and whining for his life. He wouldn’t let that sway him though. Completing the charge the dark haired man let loose with another horrific blast of blue energy from his eyes, reducing the well to a smoking hole and sending more tomato bits flying about the burning village.
“Grrrrr, you will learn your place.” he growled and turned on the last two remaining buildings.

Bringing his left hand to bare again, Royd started to blast one of the two buildings, firing of slow, methodical bolts until it collapsed to the ground. The blasts continued, erasing all traces of the particular hut, impacting again and again until the young man’s anger started to fade. His energy reserves were also starting to fade at this point, after leveling several buildings and killing the entire population of the village it was to be expected.

Under the rubble of the eldermato's hut, Ace stirred slightly, or so it would seem. The would in his neck had, miraculously, heald without even leaving a scar. And slowly, a halo would form over his head, and he opened his eyes. Blinking once, then again, he slowly went to sit up. "What...just happened...?" he mumbled. "I... I thought I was dead... But..." Heshook his head. "Trippy..."

Hearing some of the ruble move, Royd spun about and brought his hand to bare. Not seeing where it came from at first, he let off a pair of blasts into one pile and then fired on another of the collapsed huts. Looking about he spotted a tomato fleeing from the last remaining building and turned to fire on it.

Ace got to his feet, dusting himself off as if nothign was wrong. Then he looked about, and saw...the destroyed village. "Yeesh.. This place looks terrible." He took off upward, stopping at about thirty feet and observing the destruction. He caught sight of a tomato attempting to flee and chuckled.
"Heh. No dice there." He held up one hand, and let loose a wave of ki toward the tomato, reducing it to tomato-y ashes near instantly as well as blowing out a chunk of the ground. "Ah...vengeance... It's acceptable, sometimes."

Still taking aim, Royd was surprised to see the fleeing plant suddenly explode. Looking about quickly he finally noted Ace hovering in the sky. But it couldn’t possibly be Ace, he was dead, Royd knew he had to be dead. This was all because they had killed him, he couldn’t be wrong after doing all this, could he?
“Ace? Is that you?” he called out.

Ace laughed slightly, shaking his head. Yes, normal old cheerful Ace was back! He turned when he heard Royd. "Hey, Royd! Of course it's me!" He landed a few feet from the man, his arms folded behind his head.
"Who else would it be?" he asked with a grin. "I guess those tomatoes didn't cut deep enough, or something. Ha! Killed by tomatoes? Never!"
The halo over his head would beg to differ, however...

Not knowing what to do now, Royd nearly fell over. Had he exterminated an entire village over a miscommunication? Had he misinterpreted the sounds he heard? No it couldn’t be possible, Ace had to be dead. So the question was, who was this?
“How do I know it’s really you? I leveled this place because they killed you.” he yelled back.

Ace blinked, tilting his head to one side. "Say wha...?" He raised a hand, scratching his head in confusion. "But...I"m not dead..." he said blankly. He brought a hand up to his chin in contemplation, but he passed over his neck as he did, and what he felt...or, didn't feel, shocked him. "Wait...they cut my throat... But...there's not even a mark here!"
Cue the spazz.
"There's no way! I felt the blade slice my throat wide open! It's... I..." He put both hands on either side of his head. "No... Am I dead...? Or am I just going crazy...?" He looked up at the sky, as if searching for an answer, and stopped dead... He had caught just a glimpse of it...the halo over his head.
"I... I am dead..." he mumbled at length. He looked at Royd, pointing at the halo. "This proves it, Royd... I'm dead, alright... But don't ask me what's going on right now..."

Royd watched Ace hovering above freak out for a few moments, presumable getting over the though of being dead but not gone. It was certainly a strange, strange universe. Shaking his head and just accepting it for now, Royd turned his gaze back down as staring up at the bright sky was starting to irritate his eyes.
“Well how about you come down here, we find that ball and get off this rock… Fruit before you get killed again.” He shouted up.

"Good plan," Ace said, and dropped to the ground. He assumed that, judging by how overzealous the eldermato had been about the Dragonball, it would be in his hut. And so, making his way over to the ruins of the hut, he let out a wave of ki to turn the debris to ash. Digging through the ash for a few moments, he grinned when he found the ball. "Got it!" he said.
He stood up, pocketing the Dragonball, only for what he strongly suspected was a bullet to whizz by inches from his head. "Eh?" He turned around, and his jaw dropped. "OH COME ON!"
Coming over a hill on the outskirts of the village...was an army of onions. And judging by the citrusy smell...an army of oranges as well.

Picking up the sound of the gunshot a moment after the bullet whizzed through the village, Royd turned and started towards Ace.
“Oh come on, you’ve got to be kidding.” he grumbled as the plants approached.
“Ace, we need to leave now.”
