"Did we win...?" She finally managed to ask, not even bothering to look up. Cacao had a feeling that she already knew what the answer was...so she didn't even bother hoping that Shiro would say they had.

Shiro winced slightly. If it had been hard for Cacao to ask, then it would be harder for him to answer. It took him several seconds, before he finally managed a quiet "No."

"...I figured..." She sighed, leaning back in the chair she sat upon. Even if she had known all along and hadn't been hoping for that answer, what little hope she had had was crushed instantaneously. If only she had been stronger...

Shiro was silent for the rest of the trip. He just stared blankly out of the window, cursing his weakness. How could they have lost? The mime was strong, true, but so were he and Cacao. They had him out numbered, and yet...
After a few more moments an alarm sounded, prompting Shiro to direct the ship into landing.

/No matter how strong we were...That man managed to push himself beyond the both of us...And he.../ She glanced towards Shiro before turning her attention back towards the ground.
/He powered up, too...I wasn't even a factor in that fight./

Shiro set the coordinates for Namek, then sat back and once more watched the stars flash by. Well, I guess it's time to see how much I've improved. Just because I lost to Ares, again, doesn't mean I'll lose to that mime, too.

/It'll all be pointless if we wind up getting there after all the balls have been gathered.../ Cacao realized, considering the possibility that the holder of the final Dragon Ball had been defeated. She really hoped that that wasn't the case.

Shiro just kept staring out the window. Can't forget about that whaledroid, either. She, or he or whatever, didn't run because it was hurt, I'm sure of that. There was some other reason, I just can't imagine what it must be.

/The technique I picked up from that hermit should be helpful if that mimic mimics Shiro again.../ She noted with a smirk, recalling it. She'd have to use it carefully though...considering the way the last fight had gone.

"Hey Cacao," Shiro said suddenly, "You've got a senzu bean this time, right?" He had a bad feeling that they'd both need the beans before everything was said and done, and he wanted to be sure they were prepared for that.

She held up the pouch she carried the senzus in and shook it around a bit, something moving a little within it as she did so. In other words, the answer was a yes.

Shiro nodded, barely hearing the sound of something move. You know, it's not that hard to say 'yes' or 'no', he thought. A beep told him that they were nearing the planet, so he took the controls and finished piloted the craft into the planet's atmosphere.

She didn't feel much like talking after that Popo encounter, the fourteen year old grimacing as she recalled her wake-up call.
/I'm going to kill that rotund bastard one day...or at least make him pay for constantly scaring me like that.../
