This is heaven.
These gardens are the most beautiful that can be imagined, and there is no way to describe them.
You can spar with another character here. Or you can train on your own.
You can even spar with Dabura if you want!
Instant Transmission Service If you can find a Kai, tell them where you want to go, and they'll take you there. If you are not a Kai, you can probably only be taken to the following places: -Snake Way -King Yemma's Office -The Kai World -Hell (but only for clean-up duty)

Shiro found himself amidst the most beautiful gardens he could imagine. Flowers of infinite colors and shapes, arranged in patterns that seemed to shift, like living pictures. He wondered what all this would look like from the air, and wondered if he'd ever be able to fly like Ares and Ace.

Ace was amazed by the splendor and beauty of Heaven...or at least he would have been, if he wasn't so depressed and down. As it was, he just leaned against a tree and slid down it into a sitting position. "Why... He survived that..."

This place is incredible, he thought, walking down a path of what looked like golden stepping stones. He crouched by one of the flowering bushes. The flowers resembled roses, except transparent, glassy, almost like living cut rubies. To be expected of Heaven, I guess.

Shiro's grin slowly faded, as his thoughts turned to his death. How can anything be that powerful? I couldn't even keep track of his movements. And what was with that power of his? It was like he was draining my very life out of me...

Shiro stood and continued walking down the golden path. That's probably exactly what he was doing. Damn, if he can drain energy from people, then my fighting style's suicide against him. It's no wonder I died. But still, I should have been able to do something other than get in the way...

Ace lifted his head slightly, seeing a few souls float by, any occasionally someone else who had gotten to keep their body. "All for nothing... The best I can hope for is that I did enough damage to make the next fight easier for whoever fights him..."

I have to get stronger, so this doesn't happen again... he decided, then promptly fell to the ground, sitting. Like there's gonna be another time. I failed. Ultimately, completely, and irrevocably. I won't get another chance.

"What's the point continuing my training if I'll never be able to use it...?" Shiro thought, thoroughly depressed.
"Who said you'd never use it?"

Ace slowly got to his feet. "I need to be somewhere quiet..." He jumped up, taking to the air, and flew off. I seem to recall something my mother once said...about a great place to train...but it really doesn't matter if I'm DEAD...... He sighed again. "Better get started doing...whatever I'm gonna do for the rest of eternity."

Shiro looked up. Leaning over him was a wrinkled, pale, pointy-eared humanoid being that vaguely reminded him of Ace. Shiro blinked, surprised that someone had heard him, then recalled the question. "Well, I want to help people by fighting for them. I used to just want to be strong, but now I actually want to protect people, you know? But, since I'm dead, there's nothing I can do in the living world. So even if I train, I can't help anymore..."

"Then you'll just have to go back to the living world, won't you?" Shiro looked up at that, clearly skeptical. "It's possible. I've met many people who've done it before."
"Who? How?"

"Ah... Useless!" Ace's aura flared up around him and he shot forward, dropping to the ground after a few moments when he just let his ki shut off. Hitting the ground, he just layed there. "I think i'll just lie here for a while...and...think..."

"Oh, what was his name again? Gokan? No, Gosen? No, that's not it either. Hmmm... Goku? Yes, that's it, his name was Goku! He died, two or three times before finally staying dead. Had a bunch of friends who wouldn't stay down either."
Goku? Shiro thought. He knew the stories, of course, about the young boy who had fought in the Tenkaichi Budokai at twelve and made it to the finals. Who had saved the world dozens of times. Didn't King Yemma mention him, too?

"How did they come back?" Shiro asked, curious now. Come to think of it, many of the stories had mentioned Goku rising from the dead whenever he was needed.
The old humanoidish being smiled at him. "Have you ever heard of the dragon balls?"

Ace slowly got to his feet again, shaking his head.
"What seems to be the matter?"
Ace froze. He almost couldn't beleive it, and didn't really want to beleive it, but as he turned to who spoke, he almost lost it. "......M..om...?"

The old man must have taken Shiro's stunned silence for a no. As he went over the legends of the dragon balls, Shiro recalled what one of the prizes for the tournament had been. A dragon ball. They actually do grant wishes?

"But...how..." Ace started.
His mother smiled. "Kais aren't limited to the living world only. I...felt your energy disappear...and was concerned. So..." She gestured to the gardens around her.

Ace smiled. "Thanks...for coming to check up on me," he said.
"I also came to tell you something... You need to go back to the living world. And there is a way."

"So, just because you're dead now, don't think you'll never be alive again. Who knows, maybe your friends will wish you back to life." The old man grinned and patted Shiro on the shoulder, before walking off. After a moment of stunned silence, Shiro stood.
"Wait!"

Ace blinked. "How...? That doesn't seem possible..."
His mother smiled slightly. "I assure you, it is. Find a way to the Planet of the Kais, and there find a Kai named Katako, and she will tell you what to do next."

The old man turned, grinning, back to Shiro. "You want to know a good place to train now, don't you?"
Shiro smiled halfway. "Yeah. And I have a question."

"I..."
His mother took a few steps back. "Good luck." And with that, she was gone.
"Wait!...... Damn... Planet of the Kais, huh?"

"But... If it's a planet, wouldn't it be in the living world...? So how do I get to it?" Ace scratched his head. "Ah come on...never a break..."

The strange man blinked and tilted his head. "Oh, and what's that?"
Shiro rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed. "Well, what exactly are you? You look humanish, but you're definitely not human."

The old man burst out laughing for a good minute before managing to respond. "Oh my, are you humans still so closed off? I'm a Kai, the guardians of the after life, you might say."
Like King Kai, Shiro thought, nodding. "Oh, well, I guess I must have been a bit sheltered. Or focused on my training."

"Ah, well... I'll figure that out later." He folded his arms behind his head and started walking. "Hmm... But I wonder..." As he walked, he stopped for a minute. "Wait...is that...Shiro...? That's right, he died too... Huh...?"

The old kai just chuckled some more. "Perhaps. Now, come. Let's get you someplace more suited for training. Wouldn't want to ruin the flowers, now, would you?" And when Shiro shook his head, the Kai placed his arm around his shoulder. "Right, off we go!" And off they were. They had vanished into thin air.

Ace stopped and shrugged. "Well...that's odd." He shook his head. "Well then..." He looked around for a minute, then just started walking again. "Hmm... Hmhmhm..."
