What is it?
It's a super secret place that can only be reached if your character has been given the space co-ordinates for use by a spaceship.
When this happens, you will receive a message with the password for entering the Black Market.
What can I do there?
This is the only place you can sell back your stuff without having to find another member to buy it.
You may also try finding your own custom useless (to you) items in the Universe, then bring them to the Black Market to be sold for zenie.
Or... you can buy things not available anywhere else!
How does it all work?
A special character called The NPC is used to barter all prices and determine whether you can find an item or not. 'The NPC' can only be controlled by actual staff members.
Designated NPC Player Members may never play 'The NPC' (unless we are suffering a major lack of staff availability and thus have no other option).
If a staff member is in the Black Market, then a different staff member will have to control The NPC, obviously.
Can I set up my own store there?
Actually... yes.
Your character will need to have a specific skill to create a specific sort of item, which must be approved in your character profile and added to your Special Notes.
This skill may not be a plot hole in any way. So if you want to do this, then it's best to start training your character with their hobby (hint) or whatever sooner rather than later.
Clothes Beam and Kai Forgery do not count toward this, unless you can use these techniques to create something super unique that people will want to buy.
More Details
You may make one post per day making and selling a pre-approved number of 'items' in your store.
The number you can make is what's approved to go in your special notes.
The average price per item will also need approval.
Please note: Don't expect this to be fair. Some people may be able to get away with a higher value of 'items times price' than you... but to avoid this, please do your best to make sure your character's skill is as realistic and natural to them as possible.
The more plotholish a skill is, the less you'll be able to get.
But then again, there are other factors... and you can still get screwed over.
So please don't complain if someone has moar earnz than you.
How many you can actually sell is determined by 'The NPC'.
The staff member playing them will go to Random.org and put in '0' as the minimum and 'max number of items you have been approved to make/sell' as the maximum value.
The number they get is posted in reply to your day of trying to make a living, and that's how many randomers bought your shit.
Multiply this number by your average price, and that's how much you earned for all your hard work.
Raw Materials?
Your character will have to collect these themselves before any post of work in the Black Market, if applicable.
Not collecting the materials results in you selling nothing, because you've got no materials... obviously.
If the raw material is your own ki, you will have to make sure you come to work with high stamina. If you've just been in a fight, then you won't be able to do your market work.
Selling to Actual Characters
Someone comes to your stall while you're there, and wants to buy your shit.
An actual character played by someone other than you!
"Oh my God, what do I do?"
Barter.
Someone names a starting price, then you start shooting back and forth what the final price will be until you reach an agreement.
Note: Each post must be written properly. You can't just post numbers back and forth.
Astarot will be watching, so please do it rite.
Using the Black Market as Safe Haven
Don't hide here thinking the OOC password will protect you from someone's character chasing you.
In this case, Astarot will have someone in the Black Market find you and insta-kill you by seemingly pure bad luck on your part. Then, your remains will be ejected in to space once you are certain to be dead. All items will be harvested and sold to random non-players.
Note: If you had Dragon Balls, the Dragon Balls will be posted up in the possession of various non-players in various locations, and will be easily reobtainable by someone else, so don't think you can stop someone getting your DBs this way.
Final Note
The Black Market has never been implemented before in past sites of the Legacy family, and is therefore, effectively, a beta test.
This means that improvements and alterations may take place, and your suggestions could help to design a part of this siteas long as those suggestions aren't crap.
