The gigantic rocky mountains of Earth are very good places to train. Some animals live in random places on the mountains, but the most dangerous parts are the crumbling ledges, and some parts of the mountains are easily destroyable.
So watch out for landslides!

Ian's Nimbus had flow to a fairly high altitude and was long gone from Hercule City. It moved faster than Ian could run, although only because it didn't have to go around obstacles or climb up them. It just flew. Ian had no problem with that, however.

The Nimbus came to a stop on a rather large ledge that looked as though a chunk of the mountain itself had been carved out. The ledge appeared sturdy enough for what Ian planned to do, so he hopped off of the Nimbus and dismissed it back to its resting place.

Ian could feel that he'd reached a new level of strength. Perhaps not quite so different from his powers now, but it was there. He took on a serious expression as his aura burst upward from his feet like flames being fed with alcohol.

He opened both his palms and began gathering energy in both of them. The orbs created therein started out smaller than a dime in diameter, but they quickly grew to be larger than softballs.

Ian launched one across the rocky platform on which he stood. He then focused for a moment and dashed in front of the blast at top speed. He raised his other arm, which currently still had an orb in hand, and unleashed the orb into the oncoming blast.

Both blasts collided and unleashed a small explosion. The smoke cloud they created cleared rather quickly due to the winds on the mountain. This won't do it. Enough fooling around.

He bent his knees slightly and widened his stance. He stuck both arms out to his side, perpendicular to the ground. Time to unleash as much energy as I can as fast as I can.

Ian then bent his elbows and cocked his arms back, gathering as much energy as he could must in each hand. He then began rapidly thrusting and recocking his arms as he launched blast after blast into the air.

At first it wasn't too difficult. He was able to fire blasts at nearly seven per second when doing this motion, and they were all fairly strong, by his standards at least.

Ian had counted each blast. He noticed a drop of sweat on the tip of his nose at blast number forty two. He quickly shifted his expression to one of determination and continued. He couldn't be sweating already. And if he was, he'd just blow past his limits.

Eighty-three, eighty-four, eighty five...it was beginning to take its toll. Ian was a bit frustrated because of this. He knew he still had over half of his power left, but his arms were starting to burn.

He watched as each shining blast of his own neon orange energy flew through the sky. Some collided with one another, catching many of the others in their explosions. It created an impressive fireworks show.

I won't stop until I hit two hundred...but damn...my arms are starting to really hurt. Ian thinks as he passes the one hundred mark. He also took note of the fact that he was sweating all over now.

One hundred fifty seven...agh..the burning is almost unbearable. Ian then noticed that each blast was somewhat smaller than when he began. He clearly wasn't firing them as fast as before either.

Ian didn't want to slack off. He had to finish up part one of his training session strong. He was so close to two hundred he could almost taste it. Then again, he was already tasting the burn.

His breathing finally got heavy at this point from how much he'd been jerking his arms back and forth. His legs were even starting to tingle a bit from having to hold his place as he fired so much.

He halted his firing after the two hundredth blast went off into the sky. He let his arms drop to his side and relaxed his stance for a moment. Now he would do meditation, but he needed a moment to catch his breath and let his arms rest.

Ian soon sat down, curling his legs underneath him indian style. He let his elbows wrest on his knees and let his hands dangle down in front of him.

He took several deep breaths and closed his eyes, focusing on controlling his energy. Each time he inhaled, he lowered the strength of his aura. Each time he exhaled, he gave a faint growl and increased the strength of his aura.

As his neon orange aura fluctuated around him, he could feel the currents of the wind change around him and the ground below him shake slightly. He was already stronger than he thought.

Will this be enough to stand a chance in the tournament? Better yet...will it be enough to put up a fight against those enemies? Ian's mind shifted from his training for only a moment. And then he resumed his focus on energy manipulation training.

I need to be able to summon up my maximum power in an instant. This isn't cutting it. Ian thought, and forced power through his entire frame. He felt rather stiff and almost like his body might explode for a moment.

Breaking through his limits was far more difficult than he'd anticipated. Then again every time he'd fought before it hadn't been easy. He'd come away from each time stronger than before he went into it, too.

This time would be no different than any of those with the exception that his only opponent was his own limitations instead of having his own limitations and another fighter as his opponent as well.

He couldn't say in his meditative position if he was going to summon up all of his strength in one go. He quickly leaped to his feet and took his stance. "Ggrrr....Keep it...together...Ian!" He grumbles under his breath.

His aura began steadily expanding for a few moments, then it completely stopped growing at all. Damnit! What's the problem? I know this isn't my full strength. I can feel something else deep inside me. Why can't I bring it to the surface?!

Ian closed his eyes again, still gritting his teeth as he searched deep in the recesses of his mind, body, and soul. He was digging down deep. It felt as though he was expending small chunks of his life force. Although he wasn't actually doing this, it had a feeling that was reminiscent to him of doing so.

Suddenly his aura exploded. For one breif and shining moment, it was over twenty feet from him in every direction. The ground below him was cracking and small stones were being lifted from the ground. His hair was flitting about wildly in the wind.

This is it! I can feel the power! It's so close to the surface. It's the most incredible thing I've ever felt. It's almost intoxicating...to have this much power...I didn't know...how could anyone be this powerful? Have I been blind to my real potential the whole time?
