Clenching both fists, Raynak brings his fists to waist level, a sinister looking smirk on his face...
"We'll just have to rush him without thinking! It sounds stupid, yes, specially for fighters of our calibur... Though, sometimes the path to victory isn't always the most sane...."
Raynak then bent his knees at that, preparing to dash at Korin...
"C'mon Ian! Don't think! Just go!"

"Right!" And so Ian and Raynak would both rush Korin almost aimlessly, moving wildly back and forth, slowing and speeding up, in order to throw Korin off and hopefully catch him.

Korin was growing nervous now, taking hesitant steps back as Ian and Raynak rushed in. They weren't thinking anymore, just acting off impulse. All Korin could do now was rely on his own speed and prowess. Raynak jumps in at Korin, and dives low at him, though Korin sidesteps. Gritting his teeth, Raynak looks over to Ian....
"Now IAN! Get him now!"

Ian dove at Korin's diagonally left-front flank, "RAAAHH!!" He shouted as he leaped. He knew they were getting closer. He could see the anxiety in Korin's expressions.

Korin was a bit off balance from Raynak's attempt, though he managed to jump up over Ian's dive. Rising into the air, Korin looks down to see Raynak leaping up towards him. Having jumped off Ian's back as Ian dived for added momentum. The two would now be flying through the air in a sense, Raynak's arms outstretched toward Korin....
"Quick Ian! Underneath! Catch Korin before he falls! He can't fly!"

Ian landed on hands and knees and had just enough time to get one foot partially underneath him to shove off with both hands and said foot to dive underneath Korin. Would this be enough to capture him?

There was nothing Korin could do... As Raynak collides into Korin in the air, wrapping his arms around him as the two came crashing down into Ian's arms. Ian would wind up with both Raynak and Korin in his arms. Though more so, Raynak holding Korin, and Ian holding Raynak. Holding Korin up above his head, Raynak begins laughing triumphantly...
"Haha! Yeah! We did it! We caught ya, Korin! Hooray!"
Korin would laugh, getting bounced up and down by Raynak....
"Okay, okay! Haha... Yeah, you two got me good there. Nice job you two."

After he was sure that they had caught Korin he let them both go and sprawled out on the floor. "I'm glad it's water that you're rewarding us with...I'm parched." Ian wipes the sweat from his brow. He had done this with weights on. It was tiring.

Now that it was all said and done, being put down by Ian, Raynak kept Korin in the air. Holding him above him around his waist with both hands....
"Yeah! Fork it over, cat! We want the water as promised! Don't think of trying to cop out on us!"
Korin sighed at Raynak yet again...
"Fine, fine.... You have to put me down, first!"
Raynak chuckled at that, putting Korin down....
"Oops.... Yeah... Alright, now.... The water as promised!"
Korin nods, leaving the room for a moment, then coming back with two gourds of water in each hand respectively. He'd hand one to both Raynak and Ian...
"Here ya go boys! Drink up! You've earned it!"

Ian gladly took the water from Korin with a triumphant grin on his face. He popped the cork on the gourd and tipped it up. The water was crystal clear and fairly cool. It was just what anyone could hope for after such a mentally and physically demanding task.

Raynak popped the cork of his gourd as Ian, had, drinking the water. Being a Namekian of course, the water was much more gratifying for him. Not only that, but with the added illusion that it was "special" water, it tastes that much more sweet. Throwing the gourd to the ground, Raynak flexs his muscles....
"Yeah! I'm super strong now! I can feel the energy flowing through me! This is incredible! This feels great! Yes! YES! YES! I can beat anyone now! I can do it!"
Korin began to laugh hysterically at that, shaking his head at Raynak....
"Haha! You are something else, young one..."
Raynak brought his arms down at that, glaring at Korin....
"What do you mean by that, cat!?"
Korin rubs his nose, and responds....
"There was nothing special about the water, Raynak.... It's you that are special. You and your own abilities. You and Ian. You're stronger now because of your peseverance and determination. Not because of any secret water. Haha...."

Ian nearly got strangled on the gulp of water he'd just taken when he heard what Korin said. He spewed water out of his mouth as he looked very peeved, "What did you just say?" The tone of his voice was enough to convey his frustration, but his expression did the job doubly as well.

Surprisingly, Raynak wasn't upset by this. He just smirked at Korin...
"Very clever, Korin.... Perhaps I was wrong about you and big brother Noru.... Maybe you two do have something going... Still, don't let it go to your head cat...."
Korin laughed at Ian's reaction....
"Yes Ian, you heard correct. There is no secret water. The strength came from you, and you alone. I just helped push it out in a sense. Haha..."

At first Ian was almost furious, and then he realized something. If this strength to overcome such a trial was his own already, then he was much stronger than he thought. He took a drink of his water again and then got to his feet. "Alright! I know I will do well at the tournament. But first...there is that problem to attend to. The one those other people told you about, Master Korin. Do you have a plan on how to deal with it?"

Korin's look became more serious with Ian's question, he then responds...
"Hmm.... You two will have to help those guys defeat this new threat to Earth. Now's your chance, young Raynak. I'm not certain of everything, though I do know that they will need all the help they can get in defeating these powerful foes. You two will be of great help to them. One more thing... I have something for you two..." At that. Korin looks up to the sky, and yells, "Come out Nimbus!"
At that, a yellow and gray streak would come rocketing down from the sky. Each Nimbus goes on either side of Korin now and he continues....
"Take these. I know it may sound crazy, but, you can ride on these clouds, so long as you're in the right mind state to ride on said cloud.." At that, the gray one goes to Raynak, the yellow to Ian. Raynak cocks his right brow at that....
"What do you mean: 'right state of mind'.....?"
|
|
|
Post by Ian on Feb 7, 2010 22:50:12 GMT -5
Ian wanted to know the answer to that same question. What was the 'right state of mind'? Was there a true 'right' state of mind at all? It seemed like a very vague catch. "Yes, Master Korin. Please, elaborate."

"I can sense that you are pure of heart, Ian. Which is why you have the yellow Nimbus. The Nimbus clouds work according to alignment.... Good, evil, and neutral. The colors correspond as such too. So you two would be wise to take that into account. Good is yellow, purple is evil, and gray is neutral."
Raynak was getting a bit angry at his now, realizing what it meant that he had a gray cloud... Korin goes on...
"You must stay true to your alignment while atop these clouds, or you will fall through.... Understand? I'm sure you've noticed Raynak's.... Questionable persona.... He isn't evil... Though he isn't nessecarily good either.... Until he can come to terms with things, he'll have to ride the gray Nimbus."

Ian wasn't sure whether to smile or frown. He'd been deemed as a 'good-minded' person, but Raynak was 'on the edge of a knife' so to speak in terms of who he was. "Well, I'm glad to not have to run everywhere. Riding on the Nimbus will be much easier and faster than just running around."

Raynak just hopped on his Nimbus at that, turning away from Ian and Korin...
"Whatever... You don't know me, Korin! So stop acting like you do! You and Noru can go straight to Hell!"
Without saying another word, Raynak rockets off, not even waiting for a response or waiting for Ian. He was clearly upset by this, though more so hurt by the fact that his alignment was revealed in such a manner. Especially in front of Ian... He didn't want to talk or be around anyone now. He just wanted to be alone...

Ian sighs as he watches Raynak leave in a very hasty manner. "Don't worry about him, Korin. No matter how Raynak might act, he's still my little comrade. I just hope he doesn't go off and do something rash."
"That kid is unpredictable at best. Even when I was reading his mind there was still a great deal of it that I couldn't go into because it was so chaotic. He's just a kid though. I hope he outgrows this selfishness," Korin replies as he turns and begins walking back towards the chair that he had been in when Ian and Raynak had first arrived on the tower.
"Thank you for your training, Master Korin. I will do my best to help out with this new threat. I will see you around." And with that, Ian hops on his new Nimbus and shoots off through the sky.

"No nothing yet." Korin would respond to Reiji. "They've been keeping quiet." Reiji went over and sat in a chair. "They seem to be very strong if they can easily destroy a city like that."

Korin turned to Reiji and he felt something. "REIJI! Theres something very wrong going on in Hurcule City! Get there and check it out!" Reiji immediately sprung up from the chair and flew out to Hercule City.
